Boxscore's History |
|
1954 |
The HPI Construction Boxscore has been published
continuously since 1954. This listing of construction projects on a global basis, has been a favorite tool of marketers and salespeople as a means of identifying
capital projects in the refining, petrochemical, chemical and gas processing industry. The exclusive survey, done three times a year and updated in the February,
June and October issues of HYDROCARBON PROCESSING gave a quick compilation of project type, estimated date of project completion, location, engineering firm,
licensor and construction firm. |
|
1973 |
As the number of projects grew in the Boxscore Data
Base, to over 3,000, the ability to sift through the information in a timely fashion was enhanced with the launch of the Computer Analysis of the HPI Construction
Boxscore in 1973. This analysis, instead of just providing the geographic breakdown of the Boxscore that is found in the magazine, also broke down the projects by
engineering firm, operators and licensors allowing greater flexibility and ease of use. |
|
1990s |
In the early nineties, the Boxscore underwent another
change becoming available in a fully searchable database on CD-Rom as a subscription service. This allowed companies to track their share of market in construction
activity by type of project, type of firm and geographic location. This development was widely accepted by the industry. |
