Urea production begins at Navoiy Fertilizer Plant in Uzbekistan.
JSC Navoiyazot of Uzbekistan recently announced that urea production has indeed commenced at the company’s world class ammonia and urea production complex in Navoiy, Uzbekistan.
This new complex was designed to replace two aging facilities nearby that had been in service since the 1960’s, with construction beginning back in September 2016. This project came on online on schedule with a reported cost figure of approximately $985 million USD. Full capacity for this project includes the capacity to produce 660,000 tons of ammonia and 577,500 tons of urea annually, with the intention to use the ammonia in new urea production and to produce ammonium nitrate.
