Algeria's Sonatrach awards LPG train contract to Italy's Tecnimont
Algeria's Sonatrach awarded a contract worth $248.5 million to Italy's Maire Tecnimont Spa to build a fourth liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) train at the Hassi Messaoud gas field, Sonatrach's CEO said on Monday.
The train will have a capacity of 8 million cubic metres per day, CEO Abdelmoumen Ould Kaddour told reporters, adding that the project was expected to come on line in 30 months.
The signing ceremony of the contract for the realization of the “LPG Train 4 – ZCINA Hassi Messaoud” project took place today at SONATRACH’s headquarters in Algiers.
The preliminary award of the contract was already announced on September 3rd, 2018. The project’s scope of work entails the implementation of a new LPG train inside the existing ZCINA Facility, in the Hassi Messaoud area, in central Algeria.
The contract was signed by Faiz Zane, Directeur Central Engineering & Project Management Sonatrach and Maire Tecnimont Group CEO Pierroberto Folgiero, at the presence of SONATRACH CEO Abdelmoumen Ould Kaddour several other Algerian and Italian senior officials.
