Freepoint Commodities LLC to construct and operate the Texas Gulflink export facility
Sentinel Midstream subsidiary, Texas Gulflink LLC, has aligned itself with Freepoint Commodities LLC of Connecticut for the construction, operation, and utilization of the planned Texas Gulflink deepwater crude export facility to be placed off the coast of Freeport, Texas.
This export facility will include an onshore 18-million-barrel storage terminal connected via pipeline to a manned offshore platform approximately 32 miles offshore. From that platform, crude will be sent to dual Single Point Mooring buoys that will load very large crude carrier vessels (VLCC) that can receive two million barrels of oil with an expected loading rate of 85,000 barrels per hour. The annual nominal capacity rate is expected to be 1.2 million barrels of crude per day.
Sentinel Midstream began development of this export terminal in 2019 as a solution for growing export supply to the international market ahead of the anticipated increase of U.S. crude oil production over the next few years.
