Integra Petrochemicals shareholder QXTD (Qi Xiang Teng Da) has announced that the company voted unanimously at its recent board meeting to increase the size of the planned PDH unit at the QXTD petrochemical site in Zibo. The plant was originally announced to be 400kt/year of propylene production, but has now been up scaled to 700kt/yr. The plant will be built using again UOP as the technology partner.
This will be the second partnership with UOP who supplied the technology for the first swing BDH/PDH plant which started up in 2016. As yet there is no public statement on the derivatives to be produced from this new propylene supply, as discussions are yet to be finalized.
Discussions between Integra/QXTD and potential propane suppliers will start by year end 2019 with the plant scheduled for start-up in 2021.
