KBC wins new reliability, engineering contracts from major Russian refiner

KBC Advanced Technologies was awarded a multi-million dollar reliability and maintenance contract from a major Russian refining company, KBC officials said on Wednesday.
This is the largest award KBC has ever won in the FSU and the largest reliability and maintenance project in the group’s history. Specific investment terms were not disclosed.
This contract follows the initial study phase performed by KBC, with this awarded implementation phase being an 18-month engagement. The services provided are aimed at enhancing maintenance and reliabilityperformance at multiple refining sites to allow the client to deliver stronger results with respect to operational availability at optimum cost.
The work scope includes the optimization of maintenance turnarounds using KBC’s unique standards, as well as routine maintenance and reliability improvement initiatives.
“We are delighted to have been awarded this contract which demonstrates KBC’s ability to secure major bottom line benefits for its clients during difficult economic conditions within the oil industry," said Kevin Smith, KBC’s chief commercial officer. "Looking forward, we see this as a stepping stone to expanding our footprint within Russia and the FSU.”
Together with other recently-announced contract wins, KBC says this award continues to give the company's board confidence in its expectations for 2015.
