KT Energy granted Fort Nelson LNG plant permit

KT Energy Corporation, an LNG solution provider based in Vancouver, British Columbia, has been granted a permit by the BC Oil and Gas Commission, to build its proposed facility near Fort Nelson.

The Fort Nelson LNG Plant is KT Energy’s first proposed Canadian LNG project and has been in development since 2015, the company said in its statement on Thursday.

The facility will be located 130 km northwest of Fort Nelson and have an initial production capacity of 20,000 gallons of LNG per day.

The facility is scheduled for commissioning in late 2018, with subsequent expansion depending on the market conditions.

KT Energy noted the plant will serve as a virtual pipeline providing natural gas to off-grid communities, industrial and commercial users.

China’s Kai Tian Energy Group, the parent company of KT Energy will manufacture and supply the modular LNG processing equipment for the Fort Nelson plant.
