Lummus Technology awarded significant polypropylene contract.
Lummus Technology of Houston, Texas announced in early April that it had been awarded a substantial contract by Jin Guo Tou (Jinzhou) Petrochemical for its petrochemical complex designs in Jinzhou City, China. No contract value was named at the time of this announcement.
The scope of this contract includes a technology license for a 900 KTA polypropylene unit, plus basic design engineering, training, and catalyst supply. This PP unit will be comprised of one 300 KTA line and another line for 600 KTA, and according to Lummus, it is the largest single line capacity currently on the market. Lummus Technology is providing its Novolen technology to this facility as the seventh such PP unit over the last 12 months as companies look for advantages in lower expenses and simplified processing.
