Pieridae Still Planning a Midyear FID for Goldboro LNG
In its Q1 2021 results presentation in May, Pieridae Energy of Canada stated that it is still intending to reach a final investment decision on its Goldboro LNG export project in Nova Scotia by the end of June.
This multibillion-dollar export project is currently slated to begin in the 2025–2026-time frame as a two train export facility totaling a capacity of 10.4 MMtpy in Nova Scotia.
Pieridae Energy CEO Alfred Sorensen stated that “ours is beginning to look like the last one standing with others in North America either being delayed or cancelled outright.”
Project costs have been previously estimated to be approximately $10 billion dollars. Pieridae already has a 20-year agreement with Uniper SE of Germany for LNG from the first 5.2 MMtpy train to be built.
