Porner begins construction of bitumen blowing unit at SOCAR’s Heydar Aliyev refinery

Austrian company Porner was awarded an engineering, construction and management (EPCM) contract for the construction of a new bitumen blowing unit at SOCAR’s Heydar Aliyev oil refinery. The new bitumen blowing unit will continue SOCAR’s efforts to modernize the refinery.
The bitumen blowing unit, the first unit to be commissioned within this project will lead to the complete decommission of the existing infrastructure of ''Azerneftyag'', enable the optimization of the refinery’s operating costs, increase the quality of bitumen production and improve the environmental situation in Baku.
The new bitumen unit with the production capacity of 400 Mtpy will be commissioned in mid-2018.
