Potential renewable fuel complex under study in Louisiana

Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards recently announced that Fidelis Infrastructure portfolio company Grön Fuels LLC of Houston is currently preparing a feasibility study for a significant renewable fuel complex to be placed in the Port of Baton Rouge.

Phase I of a potential multi-stage facility would cost approximately $1.25 billion with a final investment decision planned for 2021.  Full implementation of the complex would take about nine years to complete and would cost approximately $9.2 billion over all phases by 2030.

This initial phase is being designed to produce 60,000 barrels per day of renewable diesel and could conceivably expand to include renewable jet fuel from renewable feedstocks such as soybean oil, corn oil, and collected animal fats.  If fully realized, this complex would be one of the largest renewable fuel facilities on Earth.
