Technip FMC to start work on the Assiut hydrocracking complex
Technip FMC of London recently announced it has successfully completed all conditions required to begin work on its Engineering, Procurement and Construction contract with Assiut National Oil Processing Company's (ANOPC) new Hydrocracking complex in Egypt. This EPC contract was signed in July and is considered by Technip to be a major contract worth over $1 billion USD. The exact value was not announced.
This hydrocracking complex is designed to process lower value petroleum products from the Assiut refinery in an eventual 2.8 million tons per year of cleaner products such as Euro 5 diesel. This EPC contract includes the construction of new processing units such as a vacuum distillation unit, a diesel hydrocracking unit, a delayed coker unit, a distillate hydrotreater unit, and a hydrogen production facility. All these units are expected to utilize Technip’s proprietary steam reforming technology.
