Thai Oil picks Chevron Lummus Global to upgrade Sriracha refinery

Chevron Lummus Global (CLG) was selected as licensor of the residue and VGO hydrocracking units for Thai Oil’s expansion of their existing Sriracha refinery, located in Chonburi, Thailand, officials confirmed on Monday.

The license includes a 4.2 MMtpy LC-MAX residue upgrading unit and a 5.5 MMtpy ISOCRACKING unit.
The integrated plant will produce EURO-V compliant products and is the second grassroots LC-MAX unit to utilize CLG’s modern technology, according to project officials. The unit is “a core section of Thai Oil’s Sriracha refinery investment” as part of the company’s residue upgrading project
Thai Oil has been in the process of developing process design before proceeding to front-end-engineering design (FEED) on the project
It is expected that the study will be completed by the end of 2016.
