Train 2 of the Cameron LNG project in Hackberry, Louisiana begins commercial operations
McDermott International announced last week that the Cameron LNG project in Hackberry, Louisiana had begun commercial operations at the project’s second of three planned trains. McDermott and Chiyoda are the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning providers for this project.
This second train follows the initial train that began in August 2019. The third and final train in this phase of the Cameron LNG project is due in the second quarter of 2020, with all three trains having a projected export capacity of 12 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of LNG. A second phase at Cameron LNG is under consideration to add up to 10 Mtpa, but was delayed earlier this year to allow for further market assessment.
Cameron LNG’s partners are Sempra LNG, Mitsui & Co., Mitsubishi Corporation, Total, and NYK Line.
