Train 3 of the Cameron LNG export facility has begun production in Louisiana.
McDermott and Chiyoda announced on the 18th of May that the third and final train of the Cameron LNG export facility in Hackberry, Louisiana has commenced its production of liquefied natural gas. This announcement comes after last month’s introduction of feed gas to the train. McDermott and Chiyoda provided the engineering, procurement, and construction for the Cameron LNG project throughout its implementation.
With this announcement, Cameron LNG will have an overall production capacity of 12 million tons per year. A potential fourth and fifth train adding nearly 10 million tons per year were delayed by six years earlier this year after a change in the Cameron LNG joint venture plans.
Cameron LNG is jointly owned by affiliates of Sempra LNG LLC, Total, Mitsui & Co., Ltd. and Japan LNG Investment, LLC, a company jointly owned by Mitsubishi Corporation and Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha.
