Valero plans catalytic cracker maintenance in 2014 for Port Arthur refinery
Valero Energy plans to perform maintenance in late 2014 at its refinery in Port Arthur, Texas, a person familiar with a schedule for work said.
The work during the United States autumn at the 310,000 bpd refinery will include a fluid catalytic cracker, said the person, who asked not to be identified because the information isn’t public.
Bill Day, a Valero spokesman in San Antonio, said by e-mail that any turnaround will be included in one of the company’s turnaround schedules released each quarter.
The Port Arthur refinery’s catalytic cracker unit can process 75,000 bpd, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
The entire plant can process up to 80 % heavy sour crude. It produces gasoline, jet fuel, diesel and petrochemicals, and distributes them through the Colonial Pipeline, Explorer Pipeline, Teppco Pipeline or via ships and barges, Valero’s website shows.
